DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn more about what research is being done at the TU/e?  \nOn Monday the 21st of October\, Jordi Zandboer and Sudha Malik will present their PhD projects during an ODIN lunch lecture! \nJordi Zandboer specializes in Sub-THz antenna-in-package and antenna-on-chip design for short range\, high-datarate wireless communication chips. \nSudha Malik’s research focuses on advancing 5G mm-Wave technology to balance high data throughput with reduced RF-EMF exposure. Through beamforming techniques\, she is developing methods to minimize exposure for non-users while ensuring optimal connectivity for users. This work is part of the ETAIN project\, where they study real-world exposure levels and propose strategies for efficient wireless networks. \n  \nThe lunch lecture will take place on October 21 at 12:40 to 13:20\, in Cascade 2.10.

Their mission is to make discoveries in radio astronomy happen. They do this by developing new and innovative technologies\, operating world-class radio astronomy facilities\, and pursuing fundamental astronomical research. \nOn the 24th of March\, we will go to ASTRON in Dwingeloo to look at their facilities. We will get an explanation of their work by Mark Bentum and Michel Arts\, which will also include a guided tour at their buildings. \nWe will depart from the university at 9:30 sharp from P6 parking place Flux and will be back at 17:30. Lunch will be included in the excursion.  \nThe excursion is free for members. Non-members will have to pay for transportation\, which will not be higher than 15 euros. Do note that becoming a member is cheaper and can be done by clicking here! \nThe limit of subscriptions is 27\, so make sure you subscribe soon.  \nThe subscriptions close on the 20th of March. DESCRIPTION:In the last few years\, the photonics industry has boomed in the Brainport region\, and there are many career opportunities for physicists and electrical engineers. \nOn October 11 Andrea Fiore\, a member of the Eindhoven Hendrik Casimir Institute\, will tell us about the ongoing research activities\, the possibilities for internships and jobs in the sector and the PhotonDelta Fast Career Track Program at the TU/e. Afterwards\, former TU/e students will talk about their work experience in a dynamic photonics start-up and the Photonics Society Eindhoven. \nThe information session will be together with Van der Waals\, and will be in the Colloquium room on floor 6 during the break. Lunch will be provided. You can (un)subscribe until October 9th. If you are later\, then you can still come but there might not be lunch left. Please notify us by mailing to board@ma-odin.nl if you cannot make it. This will prevent the waste of food.
